(New York - January 17, 2012) Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winners Monica and Brandyhave teamed up in the studio once again to recreate history with their brand new single, “It All Belongs To Me,” set for release on February 6th on RCA Records. Written and produced by Rico Love (Usher, Beyonce, Chris Brown), the poignant song reunites these young powerhouse vocalists for the first time since their massive smash single, “The Boy Is Mine.” Monica and Brandy both tweeted news of their collaboration from the studio in Miami kicking off an avalanche of excitement in the blogosphere. It’s been 14 years since the then-teenage duo released their monumental collaboration, “The Boy is Mine,” which held the #1 spot on the Hot 100 Chart for 13 weeks, won the Grammy for R&B Performance by A Duo or Group, and was declared the best-selling song of 1998. “It All Belongs to Me” will appear on Monica’s NEW LIFE album scheduled for release on March 6th (RCA) and Brandy’s yet-to-be-titled RCA/Chameleon debut to be released this Spring.
Brandy’s ‘The Game’ Character Arc Revealed
The singer, who is in the midst of recording a new album, will play Coby Bell’s new love interest on the BET show, premiering Jan. 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
BET’s popular scripted show The Game returns Jan. 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and will debut a new face when it does:Brandy Norwood.
The R&B singer, who is best known for her UPN sitcom Moesha and the VH1 reality show she did with her brother,Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business, has signed on to play Chardonnay, a “sassy bartender” who will become a love interest for Coby Bell’s Jason.
“’With ‘The Game,’ I’ve joined the talented cast of a smart and entertaining TV show and I get to work with the amazing [show creator] Mara Brock Akil,” Norwood said in a statement.
The new season will also see the return of PJ Byrne andGabrielle Dennis, as well as guest stars includingShawn Marion, Estelle, Selita Ebanks, DeRay Davis, Nene Leakes, Rockmond Dunbar andLoretta Devine, among others.
Brandy is also currently working on a new album forRCA/Chameleon Records, due out next year. Norwood has been collaborating with super-producersTimbaland, Frank Ocean, Sean Garrett and Danja Hands as well as fellow R&B star Chris Brown.
